ABOUT CONNESSA COLLECTIVE

 Connessa was formed in 2019 as a performing ensemble on a mission to perform unexpected and lesser-known pieces and to use music to tell the stories of marginalized people – the stories of our own distinct cultures. 

In 2024, our nonprofit was born.

 At Connessa Collective, our mission is to cultivate connection among diverse communities and promote cultural awareness through educational chamber music experiences. 

As musicians with intersectional identities, we crave music that shines a light on the multifaceted communities we serve.  While we do not claim to be experts on all musical traditions, we learn more about them and attempt to honor them authentically without appropriating.
